Geretti Residence

Mr. and Mrs. Geretti want to remodel their 1950's home located in Phoenix, AZ to better suit their lifestyle now and in the future. With a budget of $50,000 the homeowners plan to upgrade the flooring throughout, purchase new kitchen appliances and a sink, new countertop and backsplash, new cabinets, new washer/dryer, new light fixtures and placement, new windows, paint and new furniture.

Their home will be designed with the phrase “casual contemporary” in mind. Color schemes will be earthy and natural, inspired by the surrounding landscapes, as well as browns, greens and the terra cotta color that was specifically requested. Clean lines and organic shapes will also play a large part in the design. Energy efficient appliances and eco-friendly products will be used heavily, with their expressed concern about the impact on the environment.

The living room will get a new eco-friendly fireplace along the north wall of the living room with built-ins on one side that will house the existing TV and all of it's equipment. Existing furniture in the living room will be relocated to the den and new furniture will be purchased for the living room.

The kitchen will be updated to a more user-friendly format, incorporating a new island workspace, a walk-in pantry, new stainless steel appliances. The laundry area has been reconfigured, adding a mud room and storage closet moved to the new construction of an enclosed garage.
